Microsoft Help:-
your Calendar open on one monitor and your Inbox open on another. This way, you can see your Calendar without switching away from your mail. Outlook 2013 users now have a new way to preview their calendars right in their mailboxes. This handy new feature makes it possible to preview your calendar without ever leaving your mailbox. As with the other Outlook modules, the Calendar module has a Reading view, which displays only the content area and the minimized Folder Pane, and Normal view, which displays any elements that you choose.
In the Calendar module, the Folder Pane displays the Date Navigator and a list of calendars that you can use . The ribbon in the Calendar module includes the File tab and the four standard module tabs:
- Home Includes the commands you need for creating calendar items, displaying specific views of the calendar, managing other calendars and calendar groups, and sharing the calendar with other people.
- To navigate your calendar, follow these steps:
- Click Calendar in the Navigation pane (or press Ctrl+2). The calendar appears in the Information Viewer, while the top part of the Navigation pane displays the Date Navigator. If you have the To-Do bar open, the Date Navigator appears there, as well.
- Click the Day, Work Week, Week, or Month button in the Ribbon. The button you click is highlighted:-
- To see the details of a single date, click that day wherever it’s visible. You see the appointments and events scheduled for the day you clicked.
- To advance the Date Navigator one month at a time, click one of the triangles on either side of the name of the month.
- As time goes by (so to speak), you’ll gravitate to the Calendar view that suits you best. I like the Week view because it includes both Saturday and Sunday so I can see my weekend plans. You can leave Outlook running most of the time to keep the information you need handy.
- Send/Receive Includes commands for synchronizing Outlook with your email accounts. This set of commands is common to the Send/Receive tab in all modules.
- Folder Includes commands for creating and working with calendars. From this tab, you can create a new calendar, manipulate an existing calendar, share a calendar with other Outlook users and specify what each user can do with the shared calendar, open a calendar that you’re not currently connected to, and control the behind-thescenes behavior of a calendar.
- View Includes commands for viewing and arranging calendar items, changing the layout and appearance of the Calendar module, displaying missed reminders, opening multiple calendars in separate windows, and closing open calendar item windows.
Calendar item windows We refer to a window in which you create or respond to an appointment as an appointment window, to a meeting as a meeting window, and to an event as an event window; collectively, we refer to these windows as calendar item windows. Like the message windows, the calendar item windows contain their own commands arranged on the ribbon. Each calendar item window includes two pages:
- Appointment On this page, you can perform all the necessary tasks related to creating and managing the item content.
- Scheduling/Scheduling Assistant On this page, you can view the schedules of other people in your organization who you want to invite to a meeting or event.
- Calendar items in the Inbox
- Click the Mail link to open the Inbox.
- Hover the pointer on the Calendar link.
- Click a date to view a day other than the current day.
- Preview the calendar items for the selected day.
- Double-click an item to open it for viewing or editing.
People Hub combines the new capability in Outlook 2013 to integrate social networking accounts, with a new People view that presents most of a contact’s information in an easily consumed view. As you might expect, the new People view provides features to help you easily work with a selected contact. Thanks to Microsoft Lync integration, you can not only view contact information and start an email to a contact from the People Hub, but you can also start an instant message, voice call, or video call.
