Using Windows Media Player
Microsoft Help:-
Windows Media Player 12 (the new version in Windows 7)
Win7-specific apps offer more application-appropriate items on their
Jump Lists. For example, Windows Media Player 12 (the new version in
Windows 7) has a section for Frequent playlists and albums, as well as a
Tasks section with the most-recent program operations.
Advanced Audio Coding (AAC, M4A). Also known as MPEG-4 AAC,
this is the audio format used by Apple’s iTunes and iPod. AAC offers
slightly better sound quality than MP3 files; AAC files can also be
subject to digital rights management protection. While older versions
of Windows Media Player couldn’t play the AAC format, Windows
Media Player 12 (included with Windows 7) is fully compatible with
both AAC and M4A format files—as long as the files don’t have
DRM encoding.
The AAC format is used by both iTunes and the iPod and iPhone; however,
it’s not compatible with many other music player programs and
portable music players. That said, DRM-free AAC files can be played in
Windows Media Player 12, and they show up in WMP’s default Music
library.
